I’m an engineer by training and a shaper by calling.
I left conventional materials behind and found a new path for building surfboards: wood, light, clean, connected to nature. What started as a personal search became a method.
The boards that come out of here are ultra-light, durable, and perform well in the water. But what they carry goes beyond technique — they carry the value of something made by hand.
Today I teach this in both in-person and online workshops. More than teaching people to shape boards, it’s an invitation for anyone who wants to create something with their own hands that goes far beyond the shape.
My connection with Portugal began in 2017
That’s when I ran my first Euro Tour Workshop in Ericeira, and I brought my whole family along.
Around the same time, I took part in a wooden surfboard gathering in northern Spain.
We rented a motorhome and spent 15 days road-tripping through Portugal and Spain.
We passed through a lot of special places, but the stop in Nazaré stuck with me.
We slept in the motorhome on the cliff by the lighthouse — something that isn’t even allowed anymore.
That connection has only grown since then.
Portugal has always welcomed me with open arms, and every time I come back to build boards here, it feels like coming home.
Workshop schedule
Classes stay small so I can give everyone direct, hands-on attention
What’s included in the Workshop
You build your wooden surfboard with your own hands, guided by me, and sign it as a shaper before taking it home. It includes the wood, the tools, your shaping station, and hands-on guidance every step of the way. Group of eight.
Next dates: September 18–20
What past participants say

Surf Icons at the Workshop
Some of the greatest legends in surfing have already been here. They shared the shaping bay with me and helped grow this movement even more.

Plant a board, grow a story
The wood you’ll use is high-performance Paulownia, grown through reforestation. Light, strong, and sustainable.
It’s what makes it possible to build boards that perform well and stay environmentally conscious.
As part of the workshop, you’ll take home a sapling of that same tree — a living reminder of what you built here, growing right alongside you.
Nazaré Workshop price: € 1,980
Next dates: September 18–20.
